QUESTIONS FOR KIDS [06]
“AUDIENCE WANTED”
updated 980710

Audience
The Native American tells his chief: “It's the six and seven eighths Cavalry... the colonel desires an audience.” — “Well...” the chief answers “the local Improv or Chuck E. Cheese's pops to mind.”

From what I recall seeing on TV, “the local Improv" must be a theater where amateur performances are given. I don't know what “Chuck E. Cheese's” is (if you know, please write to me), but let's assume it is something similar. Whatever it is, you can get an audience there.

The colonel desires an audience. The chief says that he would find an audience at the Improv. Do you know the meaning of audience in each case? If you don't know try to find out. What do those two meanings of audience have in common?
What does cavalry mean? What is the origin of that word? Do you know any related word in English? in Spanish or in another language?
What would the sixth Cavalry be? the seventh Cavalry? What could the “sixth and seven eighths Cavalry” possibly mean?
