updated 980711

Smoking teaches Calvin a lesson
Hobbes, the big toy tiger, says to Calvin: “Look it says you have to be eighteen years old to buy cigarettes.” — “Eighteen?!? By then I will know better!”
— Later Calvin asks: “Mom, may I have a cigarette?”
— Mom answers: “Sure, Calvin, I think your grandfather left some here. But smoke outside, OK?” — “Wow!” exclaims Calvin.
— Hobbes asks: “Your mom allowed you to have a cigarette?”
— Calvin answers: “For a mom, sometimes she is quite cool.”
— But then: “Eeeeee?” and “GAG BLAAUGH! HACK COUGH”
— Hobbes says to himself: “You would think that this would be an easy habit to break.”
— Calvin is still making sounds like: “ICK WHEEZE”
— Now Mom asks Calvin: “Well now... Did we learn a little lesson today?”
— Calvin: “* Gasp * ... yes ...”
— Finally he tells Hobbes: “Trusting parents can be hazardous to your health.”
